Personal Shipments



Customs Clearance



The recipient of the shipment must choose whether to personally handle Customs clearance or if he/she would like to have FedEx perform Customs clearance on their behalf.




Duties and Taxes

Duties and taxes may be paid by bank transfer to a Customs account or by pre-payment by FedEx. If paid by FedEx the recipient must compensate the courier in cash upon final delivery. Tax rates for shipments to individuals may differ from those for shipments addressed to companies or organizations.




Required Documents

  • Copy of recipient's passport (may be sent by fax)
  • Power of Attorney to FedEx to perform Customs clearance on the recipient's behalf (may be handwritten)
  • FedEx International Air Waybill
  • Commercial Invoice for commodities such as appliances; artwork (commercial and fine); books; checks (payroll and travelers); diskettes; drawings; prescription drugs; manuscripts; medical supplies; parts for aircrafts, computers, electronics, and machines; slides; software; audio, video, or computer tapes; textiles (finished and unfinished); toys; and transparencies.
