Customs Clearance

Customs requires documents from the recipient, including some prepared by the recipient along with the submission of the Customs declaration for dutiable shipments. FedEx provides the maximum amount of clearance services allowed under local law and regulations. Clearance-related documents can be faxed initially, but the originals are necessary for completion of clearance.

Duties and Taxes

Customs releases the shipment for delivery once duties and taxes are paid and the Customs Inspector approves the declaration. Confirm the payment with copies of the payment order or a bank receipt. The amount of duties and taxes is calculated during the preparation of the declaration and communicated to the consignee. Duties and taxes can then be paid by bank transfers to Customs or by pre-payment by FedEx. If paid by FedEx, the consignee must compensate FedEx upon final delivery.
