When shipping to Hungary, clearance through Customs depends on whether you're shipping:
All shipments shipped to Hungary from non-EU countries must be cleared through Customs in the destination country prior to being delivered to the recipient. Unless the sender specified a broker, FedEx submits shipments to Customs and other regulatory agencies. It is the sender's responsibility to provide the necessary and correct documentation. Shipments that require more than a FedEx International Air Waybill and Commercial Invoice may require more transit time. If shipments are held by Customs because of incorrect or missing documentation, we may first attempt to notify the recipient. For shipments where clearance is required, Hungarian Customs Authority may require 25% VAT for all shipments with a value above EUR 22. Tax will also be added prior to release. FedEx will charge the recipient VAT and taxes. Sender can not be charged with these fees. Clearance is done based on Power of Attorney granted to Customs representatives. For every person or company starting the clearance process a registration number (VPID number) must be registered with Hungarian Customs Authority if not yet existing.
Certain items are prohibited by Customs for import to Hungary. These items are in addition to items forbidden by IATA. Senders are responsible for making sure that the goods they are shipping are acceptable for shipment to Hungary. Forbidden for Import to Hungary
